Shri Chaitanya Sridhara Sangha

Project
“Gupta Govardhana”
In the enchanting countryside of Alta Sabina, about 70 km from Rome, in the locality of Magliano Sabina (province of Rieti), under the wise guidance of the mystical revelations of Swami Bhakti Madhurya Ban Maharaj , we are building an impressive
Temple-Ashram (Mandir), dedicated to his beloved Spiritual Master and Benefactor, Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara Deva Goswami Maharaj.
The construction, in whose architecture Western and Eastern traditions are harmoniously combined, is surrounded by 10 hectares of fertile farmland, gardens, and evergreen and unspoiled woods.
Swami Ban Maharaj, from the very beginning, has developed this place with his direct commitment and has guided his disciples and the various workers with his supervision, with love and pure devotion, and the Vedic scriptures confirm that this gives this land the characteristics of the highest sacredness. For this reason, the sweet hill where the Temple stands has been called “Gupta Govardhana”, like the hill of the same name in Vrindavana, India, where the Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna performed His pastimes on this Earth.
The purpose of this project is to create a charming spiritual oasis, free from all forms of anxiety of modern living, where the spiritual needs of every being can be satisfied.
The Master is teaching by his example that it is possible to truly live in simplicity and serenity, in harmony with everyone and everything, whatever occupation one performs, without fear and preparing to transcend the sufferings and difficulties of material life, developing full faith in service to the Supreme Lord.
To convey this message to as many people as possible, the “Gupta Govardhana” project includes the creation of simple and comfortable environments and structures, where every individual will be welcomed without distinctions of caste, race, creed, nationality, or other bodily designations.
The range of initiatives that the Shri Chaitanya Sridhara Sangha intends to implement is very broad but at the same time very precise, that is, with a single common denominator: to develop with every thought, every word, and every action, pure love for Sri Krishna, the Supreme Lord and Cause of all causes.
Here is a list of the main activities that are taking place and will take place in the Temple under construction in Magliano Sabina:
· Practice of rituals and ceremonies of Bhakti Yoga according to the Vaishnava tradition.
· Educational activities for the development and application of the vegetarian lifestyle, as taught scientifically and comprehensively by the Vedas.
· Cattle breeding in order to raise awareness about the importance of the love that the cow gives to all humanity and therefore the need for concrete programs to protect this sacred animal, very dear to Sri Krishna.
· Gardens and botanical gardens to realize the harmonious relationship we have with creation and therefore with the Creator.
· Beekeeping.
· Cultivation of fields with organic methods to achieve food self-sufficiency.
· Processing and transformation of agricultural products according to traditional methods.
· Cultivation of medicinal herbs to take care of the body in a natural way.
· Development and use of alternative forms of energy, starting from the reuse of the many materials that rural activities produce.
· Practice and dissemination of devotional songs, according to the Indian tradition (bhajan and kirtan)
· Multimedia library of spiritual and religious literature.
· Holding seminars and meetings on topics that elevate human consciousness.
· Promote and deepen meetings with other religious schools to develop a fruitful interreligious dialogue.
· Stays for groups and schoolchildren in order to promote a more conscious country life.
· Etc….
These activities, together with those already currently taking place in the Mission, are intended to develop the attitude of practical service, with love and devotion (Bhakti Yoga), with a meditative spirit, respecting everything, with joyful serenity, to gradually increase the awareness of our true self, the soul, which keeps the body alive and never dies!
Supporting the Association in its main activity is the Madhurya Ban Onlus.
