listening and intuition. Abilities that he further developed by living forty-two years in close contact with his Master, who took care of his education in Sanskrit and Bengali grammar, literary compositions, and the conclusions of the Vedic Scriptures, preparing him from the very beginning for the task that awaited him.

In 1986, Srila Govinda Maharaj was officially installed as the head of the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math and all its branches worldwide. He was given the responsibility for the maintenance of the Deities, the Mission, and the devotees. Thus, two years before his departure from this world, his spiritual Master, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Deva Goswami Maharaj, happily fulfilled his desire to see him as his full and sole successor.

Until January 2004, Srila Govinda Maharaj traveled around the world twenty times, visiting countries on all continents where he met devotees and sincere seekers.

He always practiced and preached the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, for whom it is necessary to serve the Lord with humility, tolerance, and respect for all.

In March 2010 he left this world and before leaving he appointed Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj as his successor at the head of the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math.
